James Barber is the owner/operator of Shop Dog LLC. Over the past 20+ years he has developed skills as an expert wood and metalworker. His career started in Minneapolis as a sculptor graduating from the University of Minnesota. Post-college, he worked as a welder, large-scale art handler, and Exhibit Fabricator at the Minnesota Children’s Museum.

In 2013 he moved to Brooklyn, NY and spent 7 years creating high-end retail displays, fine furniture, and sculpture. During Covid, James left NYC and moved to Los Angles where he managed a custom wood shop. In 2022 he returned to Minneapolis and worked with Target’s Photo Studio as a Designer/Fabricator.

Shop Dog is the culmination of this experience. We can’t wait to work with you to create your dream project!
